One Clear Quartz Rune stone set. Each stone is about 1.5-2 mm. These are hand etched and painted crystals. A true primitive set of runes. Polished stones are all different sizes and shapes. The symbols on the stone are etched and colored with gold ink. The set is made up of 25 Runes (24 etched stones and 1 blank). The set comes with a Black Velvet pouch and a wooden storage box. Also included are instructions on how to use runes with a guide to each rune symbol. A nice complete starter set.

What Are Runes? Runes is an ancient alphabet that was mainly used by the germanic tribes before the arrival of the Roman Empire and the Latin alphabet. After the collapse of the Roman Empire, the runic alphabet was spread throughout Europe by the vikings which resulted in variations on the alphabet depending upon the geographical location. It finally became settled into a basic alphabet of 24 Runes called the “Futhark” which is the most popular for divinations today. This set contains 25 tumbled stones (24 letters of the Runic alphabet & a blank Rune, often named “Odin”, which represents the “unknown”).  Runes are ideal for divination, decision making & communication.
 
How to Use Runes? Lay down a cloth and decide which part will be “down” and “up”. Ideally ruins are cast on an East-West axis or facing the sun. Then focus on the question for the casting. Runes should then be drawn from either a box or pouch where they should be kept at all times. After casting the stones onto the cloth the ones which have fallen the right side up are read and depending upon whether the rune is reversed or not, it will have a bearing upon its meaning and the reading as a whole.
